Light and fluffy biscuits that are HIGH-RISING
Ingredients
2 cups AP flour
1 cup whole-wheat flour
1 Tablespoon + 2 teaspoons baking powder
2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
3/4 cups butter
1 egg, beaten
1 cup whole milk
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Combine by sifting together flours, baking powder, sugar salt and cream of tartar
Cut in butter until coarse meal forms
Quickly stir in egg and milk
Turn out onto floured surface and knead lightly
Roll to 1 inch thickness
Cut into 2 inch biscuits
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper
Place biscuits on cookie sheet, barely touching
Bake 12-15 minutes
