Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope is inspired on a real-life case of murder. It was also the first color film shot on a single sound stage.
When two thrill-seeking friends (Farley Granger, John Dahl) strangle a classmate, they decide to have a party for the victim’s family and friends. They serve refreshments on a buffet table, unbeknownst to the guests, that the body is inside trunk-turned-buffet table. Talk turns to the “perfect murder,” and their former teacher (James Stewart) becomes suspicious when his students turn his intellectual theories into reality.
