The Master of Comedy takes on the Master of Suspense. Mel Brooks pays homage to Hitchcock thrillers
as he plays renowned Harvard psychiatrist Dr. Richard Thorndyke, a nut-job with
a paralyzing fear of heights. He’s just
become the head of the Psycho-Neurotic Institute for the Very Very Nervous and
learns that his predecessor died under suspicious circumstances. Looking for help from his resentful associate
(Harvey Korman), and his evil nurse (Cloris Leachman), to his chagrin, offer no
help. Complicating matters even more,
when Thorndyke is accused of murder and enlists the help of the daughter of one
of the institute’s patients (Madeline Kahn) to prove he’s innocent. High Anxiety will leave you laughing and
rolling on the floor in this comedic but suspenseful thriller.
