Tom Hanks plays
architect, Sam Baldwin, a widowed
father, trying to get on with his life, in Seattle, Washington, to the chagrin
of his son, Jonah, who decides to
call a radio-talk-show host in order to find a wife for his father. With thousands of female listeners tuning in,
and sending letters of comfort to the grieving father, on the other end of the
country, in Baltimore, Maryland, Annie
Reed (Meg Ryan), a writer,
smitten by Sam’s story, and inspired
by the Classic Hollywood romance of Cary
Grant and Deborah Kerr’s movie “An Affair to Remember,” becomes
convinced that she is the one destined to meet Sam. There are two problems: Annie is engaged to another man, and Sam
doesn’t have a clue that they’re MFEO (Made For Each Other). An enchanting movie for any romantic who
still believes in finding that special someone, no matter how far away they
are. The right mix of music from Celine Dion and Clive Griffin’s “When I Fall
In Love” to Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man”. Also co-starring, Rosie O’Donnell, Rita Wilson, and Rob Reiner to add to the ensemble.
