When their daughter, Sarah, drowns off the rocky coast of
Wales, James (Sean Bean, The Lord of the Rings) and Adele (Maria Bello, A
History of Violence) search endlessly for their daughter’s missing body. When a mysterious young girl shows up and
tells them they are looking in the wrong place, Adele is reminded of a legend
of THE DARK, a mysterious Celtic land of the dead. As Adele is haunted by ghostly visions of Sarah
pleading for help, Adele seeks out the legend’s truth. To James chagrin, Adele continues in her
journey of madness to invoke the ancient rule of return: one of the living for one of the dead.
