Most Don't Know Idaho Has a Fairy Trail... And It's Positively Magical

Whimsical, romantic, and blissfully serene, fairy trails are a unique, family-friendly destination that are often lovingly crafted by hand to welcome nature's tiniest visitors.  But Idaho is home to an incredibly special, waterfront trail that has far more heart and soul than your average miniature village.  Informally known as Cleo's Ferry Museum and Nature Trail, this 1-mile nature stroll-botanical garden-spiritual walk-fairy retreat (all in one) will be your new favorite escape, and is a truly tranquil oasis hiding in right along the river in small-town Idaho.  Follow along and see what makes this hidden gem so special!
Tucked away in the Treasure Valley's rural outskirts, Cleo's Ferry Museum is the heartfelt work of the late Dr. Samuel (Pappy) Swayne and his wife Cleo.
Together, the Swaynes built a number of buildings on their ranch to house a medical practice and a number of eclectic trinkets.  After Pappy's passing in 1976, Cleo managed and grew the collections until her own passing.  Every nook and cranny is filled with the couple's whimsical personalities and inspirations for the weary traveler.
The cool, tree-lined trail meanders gracefully along the Snake River with multiple stone pathways and quaint bridges to explore -- perfect for escaping the summer heat.
Historic Walter's Ferry Landing makes the perfect spot for this magical, inspiring retreat.
The Swayne couple's purpose for this magical retreat is stated simply via one of the trail's many signs:  "This Place Was Built as a Vibrant Faith Adventure."
Charming birdhouses and fairy villages line the pathway...
Heartfelt inspirational signs and quotes share Cleo's passion for this unique venture like rays of sunshine.
"If I can lift you today, You will look back and grab the hands of a thousand more."
And multiple garden escapes offer opportunities for reflection and rest.
Every few hundred feet, a stylized stone exhibit tells a story and invites imagination.
Other fanciful exhibits are purely aesthetic.
But rest assured, you will find much more than just fairies, here!
Most of Cleo's exhibits highlight nature, spirituality, and the animal kingdom... although you will find a few modern surprises here and there.
It's a journey for both heart and soul, and certainly like no other garden you've ever seen!
Cleo's Ferry Museum is such a wonderful, serene oasis -- and with quite the delightful whimsy and history behind it!  Enjoy the beauty and tranquility, drink in the peace and quiet of rural Idaho!
