location. Former guests and employees used to hear lockers' pounding
backstage when no one was there. Perhaps, the ghost of an angry dancer
that continued to have a bad night repeatedly for years.
Gott's Point - Nampa
This
beautiful point between Nampa and Caldwell is home to nesting birds, a
wildlife preserve, and, according to many, a ghost. Listed by
OnlyInYourState.com as one of the best 8 places to see a ghost in Idaho,
Gott's Point on Lake Lowell is said to be haunted by the spirit of a
drowning victim. The young girl was water skiing sometime in the 70's
when the accident occurred. Some say that you can see her gasping for
her last breath late at night along the shore.
Satin Dolls - Boise
Once
known as Night Moves, Satin Dolls is the gentlemen's club on State
Street reported to be haunted. When guests and employees have taken
pictures here, things had appeared that weren't there when the photo was
taken. Cold spots throughout the building have been reported, and a
ghostly little girl is frequently seen here.
Belmont Barbershop - Boise
Idaho's
most notorious murder was that of Cora Dean, a woman who would
frequent a bar in Garden City. One night she met a man named Raymond
Snowden, who brutally murdered her that same night. Afterward, he
dropped his knife in the gutter, he walked directly into the bathroom
of Hannifin's Cigar Shop, now operating as Belmont Barbershop. Some
believe that, along with the Old Idaho Penitentiary, he still haunts
this location. People have said that they can still hear footsteps
walking towards the bathroom, even when no one else is around.
Pete's Tavern - Nampa
The
building that houses Pete's Tavern in Nampa has been around for over a
century. Customers and employees alike have witnessed ghostly
apparitions and creepy happenings inside. According to a report from
KTVB, paranormal investigators have found four ghosts that call Pete's
Tavern home. The bar is especially haunted in the back area that looks
like a cave called "The Club."
Strangelove - Boise
Originally
built to be an athletic club, the building has had many purposes since
its completion in 1906. It's been a church, a strip club, a
restaurant, and more. Over the past nearly twenty years, it's been
home to various nightclubs. A murder was committed here in 2017, but
the ghost that haunts the building is a woman who died in the in the
1920s. No one knows much about her, but she appears in pictures to this
day.
Dry Creek Cemetery - Boise
Dry
Creek Cemetery is a large burial ground in Boise. It dates back more
than 100 years. Local legend says that you can hear a ghostly horse
galloping by each night at 2:15am if you are outside this gate near the
canal.
Idanha Hotel - Boise
The Idanha
Hotel was the hot spot in Boise when it opened in 1901. Some say it's
still a hot spot for paranormal activity. The building is currently
home to Guru Donuts and apartments. Yet, when it was a hotel, it's
guests included Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft. Current
residents have gotten to know some "ghostly guests." The murdered
former bellman occasionally moves the elevator up and down at his
leisure. A woman who was reportedly murdered in the basement of the
hotel still lingers on the bottom floors.
Canyon Hill Cemetery - Caldwell
This
picture was taken between two trees that face Canyon Hill Cemetery.
It is said that if you park between them at midnight, a jogging ghost
will tap your car's window.

building watches over the grounds which are said to be haunted by a
"midnight jogger."
Owyhee Plaza - Boise
For
many years, the Owyhee building in Downtown Boise was a hotel and, for
many years, known as one of the most haunted locations in the Treasure
Valley. Guests of the hotel would often report ghost sightings in
their rooms, meeting spaces, or even the restaurant, which is still in
use. The most frequent reports came from Room 136.
River Road Bridge - Caldwell
In
Caldwell, the River Road Bridge is on the site where pioneers on the
Oregon Trail crossed the Boise River. Having played the game growing
up, you might think that the ghost stories would be generated by those
pioneers. This haunting happened much later than that. The legend says
that a woman hung herself off this bridge sometime after it was
completed in 1922. Now, late at night, according to urban legend, if
you park your car on this bridge and turn off your lights, you will see
her shadow.
The Egyptian - Boise
A
projectionist from the early days of the Egyptian Theater in the '20s
is the man who haunts this venue. He had a heart attack and died while
he was on the job. Now, he turns lights on and off and creates
strange odors wherever he goes. The Egyptian was featured in Ghost
Stories on the Travel Channel.
The Boise Murder House - Boise
The
Boise Murder House is home to a bloody and disturbing tale. On June
30, 1987, three men had an argument in the basement of this home. A
shot rang out that hit one of the men in the shoulder. There was a lot
of blood, and he ran to a neighbors house for help. No one would
answer the door. That's when the other two men drug him back into the
house to finish the job. He was dismembered, and his chopped up body
was put into the Brownlee Reservoir. The next day, police followed the
trail of his blood back to the "Murder House." The man responsible
was sentenced to life in prison, while the victim is said to still be
in the house, haunting the basement.
Fort Boise Cemetery - Boise
On the surface, Fort Boise Cemetery looks like a peaceful place, but
according to some, it's anything but. This inactive military cemetery
is home to 274 military members and their families. Ghostly visitors
here are said to include a woman and several children. A more recent
paranormal investigation has revealed a former soldier named Jerry.
Old Idaho Penitentiary
Old
Idaho Penitentiary is home to several hauntings. In these cells, many
many men served times for doing the unthinkable. Some may still be
serving time here, more than one hundred years later.
Old Idaho Penitentiary's Siberia
The
Old Idaho Penitentiary's solitary confinement section is where the
worst were sent when they couldn't be controlled. They spent their time
in a cell smaller than a twin bed. Some of the worst times imprisoned
were spent in these cells. Prisoners called it "Siberia," and some
may have never left.
Old Idaho Penitentiary - The Gallows
The
most infamous of all of the Old Idaho Penitentiary's inmates was
Raymond Snowden. Snowden was convicted of murdering a woman in Garden
City. He was known as "Idaho's Jack The Ripper" because of the gruesome
way he killed his victim. Convicted for killing one, he bragged about
killing others. It was in the newly constructed gallows in building
#5 that he was put to death. He was the last person killed by hanging
in Idaho, and the only one who's sentence was carried out in this
building. Some say that they can still hear him gasping for air in
this room, which is the most haunted in the entire prison.
