Nancy Meyers’ brings love and romance alive in this romantic comedy about two women who exchange homes when they’re romances fall apart. What they didn’t expect from this holiday was to fall in love. Kate Winslet is Iris, a woman in love with a man who’s about to marry another woman. Across the globe, Cameron Diaz is Amanda, a woman who finds out her live-in boyfriend has been unfaithful. The two women meet online and compulsively switch homes for the holiday. Iris heads for sunny L. A. and unexpectedly meets Miles (Jack Black), a film composer who mends her broken heart. Amanda heads for the snowy countryside in England where she too unexpectedly meets Iris’ brother, Graham (Jude Law).
Winslet and Diaz are lovable and funny as Iris and Amanda, the two women who exchange home across the ocean when their relationships fall apart. Jack Black and Jude Law are charming as Miles and Graham as the two new loves that change Iris and Amanda’s lives. The two women learn that love can happen the second time around. This movie is heartwarming and charming and will melt your heart. It will inspire those to believe in second chances when it comes to falling in love when you least expect it.
