The Jerk

Steve Martin is at his best in “The Jerk.”  “Born a ‘poor black child’,” Navin Johnson (Martin) goes from rags to riches and back to rags, as he learns he was actually adopted by a black sharecropper family.  After falling in love with a lady motorcycle racer, survives a attack by deranged killers, marries the love of his life, and ultimately becomes a millionaire overnight by inventing the “Opti-grab” handle for eyeglasses—this is one movie that will make you laugh.  Martin is absolutely funny in “The Jerk.”
